This project was designed for a rural area of 20,000 m2, associated with another area of equal size of the owner’s brother, primarily for recreation of a typical family on weekends and vacations.
The area, located on the slope of one of the hills of Serra das Cabras, in Campinas, near Sao Paulo, in Brazil, presents a vigorous topography and beautiful scenery of woods originated at the confluence of a number of small creeks.
The owners wanted a patio, which defined the design strategy. All spaces were gathered around a central void in a geometry designed to make the experience of the house continuous and of its passages, gradual: from top to bottom, from outside to inside, from collective to individual, from social to personal.
